Take in a museum, grab a free drink, and enjoy a genre-bending evening bridging musical traditions from Europe and Asia.

Begin your evening by exploring The Morgan, one of New York City’s great historic sites and home to an unparalleled collection of rare books and manuscripts, along with current exhibits from Photography and the Legible World, to Wagner’s Ring: Forging an Epic, to Warhol by the Book.

In the museum’s intimate concert hall, hear Grammy Award-winning St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble in the concert Austria & Hungary. You’ll experience joyful music with roots in Central Europe—from a Mozart Divertimento and Haydn Quartet to the U.S. premiere of Iván Fischer’s Shudh Sarang Sextet for strings and tabla—inspired by the Hungarian composer’s trip to India.

Following the concert, enjoy a glass of wine and hors d'oeuvres upstairs at the Morgan Café while celebrated tabla drum player Deep Singh and koto player Yumi Kurosawa from the Athena Ensemble provide informal music, improvising on themes heard earlier in the concert. The first drink is on us!

For just $45 (actual value $95), the event package includes one ticket to Austria & Hungary, all-day admission to The Morgan Library & Museum, exclusive access to the afterparty with one free drink, and one-year membership to 45below, Orchestra of St. Luke's young members program.

This event is sold out. Please check back soon for future 45below events!
