FACETS OF SCHUBERT FESTIVAL

  • St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble explores the works and the life of Franz Schubert in 2016/2017.
  • Pianist Henry Kramer and soprano Ying Fang are guest artists on the opening program.
  • National Magazine Award winner Adam Gopnik reads original essays on the final program, featuring Schubert's Octet.

In the 2016/2017 season, Orchestra of St. Luke’s focuses our season-long, three-concert chamber music series into an immersive and many-faceted three-week festival in June 2017, exploring the music and the life of Franz Schubert.

Hear Schubert’s “Trout” Quintet, his unforgettable vocal music, and the “Cello” Quintet. Complete your three-week musical exploration with a special performance of the Octet, featuring famed New York author and essayist Adam Gopnik reading his own thoughts and reflections on Schubert and the intersections of life and music. Don’t miss the related talks and events throughout the festival!
