Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications

The Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications is responsible for OSL’s calendar of email communications, social media, content marketing, direct mail, and other initiatives. The purpose of the role is to drive sales, attendance, and engagement with OSL’s annual calendar of series and concerts at Carnegie Hall and other venues; OSL’s fundraising and education initiatives and programs; and The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, OSL’s rehearsal, performance, and production facility in Midtown Manhattan.

The role closely collaborates with the Marketing and Communications team and with staff members across the 20+ person organization. Additionally, the Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications supervises freelance designers, videographers, photographers, and printers.

Responsibilities

  • Outline and author compelling, segmented, email marketing campaigns across OSL initiatives, collaborating with graphic designers and colleagues for email production and QA
  • Oversee social media and content marketing for @OSLmusic and @TheDiMennaCenter, including developing scripts / story outlines and working with video editors and other creatives to produce content
  • Author creative briefs for the creation of brochures, postcards, mailers, and other promotional materials
  • Liaise with printers on project specs, budgets, and delivery
  • Book and manage digital, radio, and print advertising and work with ad vendors and graphic designers for delivery of material
  • Ensure that OSL’s programs are attractively and consistently presented across all communications platforms: OSLmusic.org, partner venues websites, social media platforms, concert programs, signage
  • Create reporting measuring campaigns KPI’s and regularly update stakeholders
  • Source, create, and manage assets for OSL and The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, working with guest artists and venues to obtain photography and video related to performances
  • Serve as organizational subject matter expert on email marketing and social media best-practices and ensure the most effective communications to drive conversion

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience managing enterprise social media and segmented email/direct marketing efforts
  • Excellent writing and editing capabilities, with the demonstrated ability to write copy promoting concerts and other events
  • Experience managing email marketing campaigns and a strong familiarity with email service providers (Mailchimp preferred)
  • Expertise in the social media marketing landscape with hands-on management of ad-tech platforms preferred
  • Professional experience coordinating projects with multiple internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Functional experience with Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite applications, CSS/HTML,
  • Experience managing video and photo shoots
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to independently manage a full workload
  • Experience managing freelance vendors a plus
  • Strong interest in classical or other forms of music preferred. Strong interest in the performing arts in New York City required.

Working Conditions

Open office, some evenings and weekend events required, travel to meetings and events.

Compensation and Benefits 

Salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000. Benefits package is very competitive, including medical, dental, 403(b), employer-paid retirement plan, and vacation, personal, company holiday (11), and sick days.
