Development Database (RE) Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The Development Database (RE) Manager will be responsible for the overall administration and management of the Raiser’s Edge database to ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor information.

This role supports the Development team by implementing consistent and best data practices, and providing strategic insights based on data analysis.

The Development Database (RE) Manager reports to the Associate Director of Individual and Planned Giving.


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES  

Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain Raiser’s Edge system, ensuring that data related to donors and donor prospects is of the highest integrity including updating addresses, constituency codes, relationships, duplicates, deceased or inactive constituents, bad addresses and donor solicitation preferences
  • Manage process of importing, upserting, and de-duping contacts, ticketing data and transactions from MS Dynamics on a monthly basis or as needed
  • Create and generate standard and custom reports and queries to support the Development Team and Senior Management, including imports, exports, and lists for mailings, invitations and moves management
  • Creates and manages donor tracking systems (action tracks, dashboards, etc.) for donors at all giving levels, integrating prospect research and narratives on fundraising activity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate acknowledgement letters and tax receipts, track budgets and expenditures, audit requests, and month-end and year-end reconciliation
  • Analyze donor data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for fundraising efforts
  • Work with Marketing to create donation pages for website as needed
  • Provide, support and identify training to support staff members’ accurate and appropriate use of Raiser’s Edge/NXT
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance database functionality
  • Manage quarterly NCOA process and the resulting changes in compliance with USPS non-profit postage compliance
  • Maintain confidentiality of all data relating to OSL, donors and prospects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Mastery of the Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge platform and functions with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience with Raiser’s Edge database experience, including use of both NXT and database view
  • Excel power user with the ability to use and adopt advanced data management and analysis tools
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to meet required deadlines

Preferred

  • A bachelor’s degree is desirable or the equivalent combination of experience sufficient to perform essential functions of the job successfully
  • Experience supporting major gifts portfolios, institutional giving, and membership/ patron programs

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Remote with occasional in-office visits

COMPENSATION 

The salary range for this position is $25-35/hour; approximately 20 hours per week

The specific salary in that range will depend on the applicant’s skills, experience, need for supervision, and level of responsibility.
