Violinist Mitsuru Tsubota has been a member of St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble since 1989. She began her studies at the age of five and was a soloist with the Tokyo Symphony at the age of 10. She came to the United States to study with Felix Galimir. She was also a soloist with the Hiroshima Symphony in 1983. Ms. Tsubota was formerly a member of the Primavera String Quartet. Since 1982, she has performed regularly with the New England Bach Festival under the direction of Blanche Moyse.
Ms. Tsubota is a co-founder and principal violinist of the Strathmere Ensemble, and has served as concertmaster for all of Westchester Oratorio Society’s choral-orchestral performances. She is also concertmaster for many National Chorale performances, as well as for the Dennis Keene Choral Festival.
