Formed out of a desire to advocate for the performance of living composers’ chamber works, the Cerrone String Quartet first met at the Mannes School of Music in 2025, when they studied Grammy-winning composer Christopher Cerrone’s Can’t and Won’t with Cerrone, Sandbox Percussion, and Daniel Panner as their coaches. The quartet consists of Jewel Han, Weidan Zhao, Jake Adamson, and Tzu-Han Yang. Jewel Han received a Bachelor’s of Music in violin performance at Boston University; Weidan Zhao studied for a bachelor’s degree in violin performance at the China Conservatory of Music; Jake Adamson is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory in viola performance; and Tzu-Han Yang studied undergrad in the music department at Chinese Culture University in Taiwan.
