Elisa Mingo is a violist, violinist and teaching artist based in New York. She is passionate about cultivating a welcoming and nurturing environment in which all students feel inspired to explore their musical creativity. Elisa encourages her students to celebrate every step of their musical journey, while also instilling fundamental ideas surrounding technique and creative expression. A graduate of Columbia University, Elisa fell in love with string playing early on. As an active freelancing musician, Elisa is a frequent fixture in numerous orchestras, chamber groups, and theatrical productions in and around the New York City area. In addition to YOSL, Elisa also serves as a music teaching artist for the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Outside of performing and teaching, Elisa enjoys taking care of her houseplants, spending time with her cats, and roller skating in the park.
