Gerhardt Koch has been a member of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s since 1980. He is currently principal clarinet with the New York City Ballet Orchestra at Lincoln Center, where he has appeared as soloist in Weber’s Concerto No. 1, Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for Solo Clarinet and the Ebony Concerto. He performed with Musical Aeterna for twelve years, as well as with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic, and was principal clarinet with the New Jersey Symphony and Martha Graham Dance Company. He has recorded for Columbia, RCA, Vox CRI, Nonesuch and MusicMasters. Mr. Koch holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Juilliard, where he studied with Augustin Duques.
