IN MEMORIAM
Mitsuru began playing with Orchestra of St. Luke’s (OSL) in 1980 and became a member of St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble in 1989. Mitsuru’s career in music spanned her lifetime, from performing as a soloist with the Tokyo Symphony at the age of 10 to co-founding and serving as principal violinist of the Strathmere Ensemble. She also served as concertmaster for the Westchester Oratorio Society’s choral-orchestral performances, many National Chorale performances, and the Dennis Keene Choral Festival.
Mitsuru passed away on February 17, 2025 in New York City.
She is remembered for her sensitive musicianship, warm friendship, and love for the music she shared with audiences.
