Noémie Chemali

Violist and music educator Noémie Chemali is passionate about nurturing the next generation of aspiring musicians. She offers comprehensive viola group class instruction at YOSL in addition to maintaining a private teaching violin and viola studio. Noémie’s dynamic teaching style combines technical precision with creative expression, nurturing well-rounded musicians. She fosters a supportive environment encouraging students to embrace challenges and discover their unique sound. She holds degrees in Viola Performance from McGill University, Mercer University, and The Juilliard School and is an active performer in New York City. Most notably, she combines her passion for Arabic music into her teaching methods and engages in culturally responsive pedagogy that fosters an exchange of ideas and a dialogue with the communities in which she serves.
