Philip Glass @ 90

This program marks Philip Glass’s 90th birthday with a performance of his String Quartet No. 3, “Mishima.” The work draws on music from Glass’s score for the Paul Schrader film and has become one of his most frequently performed chamber pieces. Cast in four movements, it translates material originally conceived for film into a compact, self-contained form.
