This summer’s Naumburg Orchestral concerts illuminates the the diverse voices of American classical music, from well-known works by Copland and Barber to unjustly neglected songs by Florence Price, the first African-American woman to have an orchestral piece performed by a major modern orchestra, to the contemporary sounds of New York-based composer Anna Clyne. Emerging soprano Jasmine Muhammad will join the Orchestra of St. Luke’s for this special and rare performance of songs by Florence Price.
