Part of: Chamber Music Series
Hear OSL musicians perform Schubert’s radiant Octet in F Major, one of the most beloved works in the chamber music repertoire. Written in 1824 as a companion to Beethoven’s popular Septet, the Octet expands the instrumentation to eight players and unfolds across six movements of drama, lyricism, and joyful interplay.
With its sweeping Allegro, playful scherzo, soulful Adagio, and exhilarating finale, the Octet reveals both Schubert’s admiration for Beethoven and his own unmistakable voice, an intimate masterpiece that shines in the hands of OSL’s virtuoso players.
