Valerie Coleman’s Portraits of Josephine

Written for woodwind quintet, this work celebrates the life of the famed performer and social justice activist Josephine Baker. Playwright and actor Kirya Traber will premiere her own original narrative to connect Coleman’s musical depictions of Baker’s origins, adventures, and legacy.
