Fall 2020 Season

October—December 2020

The October Chamber Music Series
A collection of our favorite chamber music performances streamed live from The DiMenna Center for Classical Music. Hosted by David Hyde Pierce, the concerts highlight works by Schubert, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn.

The DiMenna Center Education Benefit
The annual DiMenna Center Education Benefit will be live streamed on October 20 at 7:00pm. The evening will be hosted by internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano, Susan Graham, with special guest, countertenor, Anthony Roth Costanzo.

Composers of Note with Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center
Mainstays of the chamber repertoire and significant new and historic works highlighting living composers, with a focus on some of the composers championed in OSL’s Music in Color programming initiative. The four concerts will stream live on Monday evenings in November.

The Imagination of Eleanor Alberga
This fall, OSL’s Music in Color concert celebrates the music of Eleanor Alberga. Born in Jamaica and currently based in the UK, the emotional range of her musical language, her structural clarity and a fabulously assured technique as an orchestrator have drawn high praise on an international level.

The Legacy of Florence Price
As part of OSL’s re-envisioned fall season and an effort to keep the arts alive in New York City schools, our Free School Concerts program will be offered virtually during the Fall 2020 season. This fall’s Free School Concerts will feature the music of Florence Beatrice Price, the first black female composer to have a symphony performed by a major American orchestra.
