Johann Sebastian Bach
Violin Partita No. 2: Giga
Like the cello suites, Bach wrote the six works that comprise his cycle of sonatas and partitas for solo violin between 1717 and 1720, while he was working in Cöthen. The Violin Partita No. 2 is arguably his most revered of the set, with the penultimate Giga movement a brief and dazzling example of Bach’s flair for virtuosic invention.
