Mozart’s Requiem

Christophe Rousset, the internationally acclaimed conductor, harpsichordist, and founder of Les Talens Lyriques, makes his OSL and Carnegie Hall conducting debuts in a program pairing two sacred works by Schubert and Mozart.

Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G, written when the composer was 18, opens the evening before Mozart’s Requiem, left unfinished at his death. Rousset leads OSL and the Grammy-nominated Clarion Choir, directed by Steven Fox, alongside an exceptional quartet of soloists: soprano Liv Redpath, who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House; acclaimed mezzo-soprano and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World winner Jamie Barton; tenor Andrew Staples, a regular guest at leading opera houses and orchestras internationally; and three-time Grammy Award-winning bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, one of today’s leading American opera singers and a recipient of the Metropolitan Opera’s Beverly Sills Artist Award.
