Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony

Andrew Manze leads Orchestra of St. Luke’s in two landmark works from Beethoven’s heroic period: the Piano Concerto No. 3 and Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.” Acclaimed South Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son, a prizewinner at both the Tchaikovsky and Van Cliburn competitions, brings what The Guardian has praised as her “crisp clarity and a poetic flourish” to Beethoven’s dramatic C-minor concerto. Manze, renowned for his historically informed approach and extensive experience with Beethoven’s music, then conducts the revolutionary “Eroica,” with its sweeping scale, emotional range, and propulsive energy.
