How to Support
This year, we honor OSL’s Chair of the Board, Norman Benzaquen and pianist, Emanuel Ax. Norman Benzaquen became Board Chair in 1998 and has transformed OSL into the vital organization it is today. Under his leadership, OSL established the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke’s, built The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, became financially viable, and earned the moniker of New York’s “Hometown Band” (The New York Times). Emmanuel Ax, a frequent OSL collaborator, “is an extremely satisfying pianist; he is at home in a wide variety of music and his pianism is always thoughtful, lyrical, and lustrous.” (The Washington Post).
We are excited to celebrate this season’s gala at a different venue: The Pierre, a quintessential monument to New York City grandeur. Returning to the stage as host for the evening will be Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor, and OSL Board Member, David Hyde Pierce. Orchestra of St. Luke’s will give a dazzling performance led by Conductor Nic McGegan, and the evening will end with waltzing – an OSL gala tradition. It will be a night to remember!
