Four Emerging Composers • Four New Works

Four emerging composers are given the same task assigned to J.S. Bach by Frederick the Great of Prussia nearly 275 years ago: to create a new composition from the same musical theme. This year’s DeGaetano Composition Institute culminates in the closing 2020 OSL Bach Festival performance with the world premiere of these four unique pieces, testimonies to Bach’s continuing influence on today’s musical scene.
