J.S. Bach’s Stabat Mater
Part of: Bach Festival 2025
Tuesday, June 3, 2025
7:00pm
Carnegie Hall - Zankel Hall

The 2025 OSL Bach Festival opens with an evening of Baroque brilliance as Lionel Meunier, founder of Vox Luminis, conducts a program of sacred works. Bach’s Tilge, Höchster, meine Sünden—his profound reimagining of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater—is paired with Vivaldi’s luminous motets. Richly scored and emotionally vivid, the orchestral writing highlights the depth and elegance of the Baroque tradition.
Soprano Gemma Nha, praised for her “focused and luminous sound” (Parterre), joins countertenor Reginald Mobley, described as “one of the finest countertenors working today” (Chicago Reader).
