La Chapelle de Quebec, one of the world’s leading Baroque vocal ensembles, once again pairs with Orchestra of St. Luke for an all-Baroque program of vocal and orchestral works written for royal occasions. The program includes four pieces by Handel commissioned by King George II of Great Britain, including three choral anthems written for his coronation in 1727 and Music for the Royal Fireworks, a stunning, large-scale suite for wind ensemble and percussion, and Bach’s Cantata BWV 215. The cantata, written for the anniversary of the election of August III, Elector of Saxony and Poland, will feature soprano Amanda Forsythe, tenor Samuel Boden, and bass Matthew Brook.
