Bach’s transcription of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, transformed through his rich orchestrations, launches the 2019 Bach Festival alongside selections and arrangements from his extensive catalogue of sacred cantatas. Soprano Lydia Teuscher and countertenor Benno Schachtner join OSL conducted by Bernard Labadie in the first of three festival performances at Zankel Hall.
